VISITING LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas, which is officially known as the City of Las Vegas and often referred to just as “Vegas,” is not only Nevada’s most populous city; it is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. From its astounding resorts and hotels, to its mega casinos and thriving nightlife, you can rest assure that, whatever your indulgence is, you will find it in this city.

There are plenty of sites to go, places to visit, and things to do while you are in the “Sin City.” But a trip to Las Vegas will not be complete if you are unable to check out these points of interest.

  1. Bellagio Fountains

While there are definitely a multitude of free shows outside the hotels lining the city’s streets, there is no denying the fact that the Bellagio Fountains is the most deserving of anyone’s time and attention. Time your visit to the fountains anywhere between 3 in the afternoon and 8 in the evening so that you can witness the man-made lake, which measures 8.5 acres, explode and dance in front of you. This happens every half hour, so if you missed the last one, you can just take a quick look around the area and come back for the next show.

  1. Cirque du Soleil

There are dozens and dozens of Cirque shows that take place every single day in the city, but the best is no doubt the one at the Mirage. It is quite expensive, not to mention lengthy (at three hours), but if you want to really experience what Vegas is, then you should check this out. You can expect all sorts of impressive acts here, as the Cirque employs former Olympic gymnasts as part of the team.

  1. Fremont Street Experience

If you think that a night at the Fremont Street Experience is the same as any other night while you are at the Las Vegas Strip, think again. Located at downtown Las Vegas, this project is a combination of the antique, the modern, and the futuristic. Innovative technology, live entertainment, glittering lights, and stunning visuals all await you at this attraction that can rival even the famed and great Vegas Strip. Lining the streets are well-known casinos, and you can feel the party vibe emanating from the people all around you.

  1. The Shark Reef Aquarium

The Shark Reef Aquarium, which you will find at the Mandalay Bay, is another attraction that you should not miss, especially if you are into wildlife and you are visiting the city with your kids. Expect to pay $16 for the entry though. Don’t worry: even at this kind of price, the aquarium is surely going to give you and your young ones a great experience. Rays, crocodiles, sea turtles, a komodo dragon, and of course, plenty of sharks are there to see.

  1. The Atomic Testing Museum

The most apt and accurate way to describe the Atomic Testing Museum is that it is one-of-a-kind, and for some, a bit terrifying. It gives viewers an insight on Nevada’s history as one of the country’s nuclear testing sites. If you are into educational experiences, and at the same time, love the darker and more macabre side of things, make sure that you include this in your itinerary.
